The Phaistos or Phaestos Disk is a curious archaeological find. Most likely dating from about 1700 BC, its purpose, meaning and even its original geographical place of manufacture remains disputed, making it one of the most famous mysteries of archaeology.

The legend of the Minotaur, (half man, half bull) seems to have originated from this area. We know that the Minoans had a fascination for bulls. Their most mysterious art shows human figures, some of them girls, grabbing the horns of a bull and leaping over it.

The beautiful Chania harbour is wonderful, and at any particular time of day the light produces a different result, creating a "different place". The atmosphere has a touch of Florence and Venice, combined with the culture and character of Cretan people and traditions.
