The Iviskos hydrofoil makes regular trips between Symi, Rhodes and Marmaris.

The Nikolaos makes daily trips from Rhodes, Mandraki to Panormitis and Yialos.

The Aegli hydrofoil, owned by ANES, on her last visit to Symi after many years before she went to meet her ancestors. Another of the old Black Sea fleet and very fast. Sadly missed.

The Dodekanese Pride from Dodekanissos Seaways was built in Norway and is a fast catamaran ferry giving a daily service from Rhodes Kolonna around the Dodecanese islands. Sister ship to the Dodek Express.

Symi is an island in the Dodecanese that has a little bit of everything: beautiful surroundings, nice taverns and wonderful waters to swim and enjoy.

Round the Island trip and BBQ

Through the arch, the view of Nimborio Bay Nimborio was one of the oldest settlements on Symi in ancient times, and still retains a mysterious atmosphere.

This boat was used to bring in 144 illegal immigrants (bit crowded!) but has now been restored as a day trip boat.

Yialos is the main Symi Harbour. Beautiful with the Vigla mountain behind.

Church built in the ruins of the Kastro, which was blown up at the end of WW2. The Kastro overlooks the main town of Symi, Ano Symi. It was built by the Knights of St. John as an expansion of a Byzantine castle on the same site

Yialos Harbour seen from the windmills. Just outside Yialos, on a ridge, there is a row of old windmills. From here it is possible to walk to Pontikokastro (Mouse Castle).

King Nireus sent 3 ships to the Trojan Wars ( a little before my time). This was a huge contribution for a small island.
